Can I plug this in at home?

i need to power a screen printing dryer in my basement and the electrical specs are this: 110V / 20 amp/ 50-60 Hz How do i go about telling if my wiring will handle this?

  1. If the outlet is powered through a 20A breaker and there is nothing else on that outlet when you want to use the screen printer dryer you should be fine.  It should be 12Ga wire, preferably a dedicated outlet and breaker for this purpose.  A 20 Amp outlet usually has one socket perpendicular to the other one instead of parallel.


  2. Look at the end of the power cord.  If it is designed to operate from a standard receptacle, the cord cap will look like most that you see at home.  If this is the only item in the circuit, it should be OK.  It is called non interchangeability. If it it won't fit in the outlet, do not force it.
