Can I power my laptop through th usb port

Question

the dc power socket on my laptop top is loose, so power cuts off ever so often. My battery needs replacing. Is the any other way I could power my laptop either through the usb port or a additional battery that can be charged independent of the laptop. Would appreciate your comments.
