Can I preload a shuffle and give as a gift if the person doesnt have itunes?

no, not with a shuffle. the music must be in the itunes library or the program will erase the songs from the ipod this is different than other ipods

I tried it with Limewire and it works, but I don't know if you can put songs from the outside. If you or your friend want to download music use Limewire. Don't waste your money :)
