not really, its the waves that cause it. It is a natural cycle and not a bad thing. Don't worry, as the earth takes away it adds also.  I hear Hawaii is expecting a new island within the next 100,000 years.

yes and no some beaches naturally will have sand move with the tides look up Gladies Canteen in Nova Scotia this is a 'living beach' in the winter the waves remove all the sand leaving soccer ball size round worn rocks in the spring the tides return the sand for a wonderful sandy beach.Then check out Sable Island they are planting natural beach grasses to prevent the wind erosion of the beach sand

YOU CAN HELP JUST CARRY SAND FROM THE WATER TO THE TOP OF THE BEACH A LITTLE AT A TIME AND YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE
