Question:

Can I primer a wall twice?

I'm trying to paint a light well onto a wall that was dark purple... we primered over it once but the purple is still very much there. Should I put on a second coat of primer or just start painting with my yellow? Only a few of the walls in the room are dark purple the rest were ready to go after being primered once.

  1. It will be cheaper to add another coat of primer/sealer if you have it tinted as close to your final color as possible. When going form a dark to light tint it may take as many as four or more coats. Good Luck

  2. You can prime as many time as you want.  What I would do is a small little section in a corner with the yellow and see if it will cover the purple.

  3. Definitely do another coat, or two if you need to, you don't want any purple showing through your yellow!

  4. I would prime it again.  Primer is cheaper than paint and you really don't want that purple showing through the yellow.  Uck.
