I did a small contract job for a one-person company. Now he says that I need to fill a 1099 for in order to get paid. I don't feel comfortable disclosing my SSN to this person, I just don't trust him. So can I fill the 1099 with an old ITIN number and if so, how do I declare that income?

  1. If you have been issued a ss# then you can no longer use your ITIN.  But you can apply for an EIN and give him that instead of your ss#

  2. The ITIN is void.  The SSN is the correct number to use.
