Question:

Can I pull off a hotel party at W hotel in Montreal?

My 18th birthday is coming up and apart from the obvious clubbing, I'd like to have about 10-15 people over afterwards for an after-party. I'd try and rent the biggest and most expensive suite at the W hotel, but I have never been there and I'm wondering if anyone knows how strict they are? Has anyone had similar experiences?

  1. lucky you! that hotel boutique is way cool.congrats!!!just call and ask the public relation person there and ask.

  2. Aw.. that sounds fun!  I haven't been there but you could call and get the info from them.  Let them know beforehand that you're throwing a party for your 18th and how many people you're expecting, that way when they book your room they can place you away from other guests, or let the guests know when they're checking in.

Plus, if you're booking the most expensive suite, they tend to be a little more forgiving since you're spending more money.  But that doesn't mean they'll sacrifice their other guests comfort, so do your best to not let your friends get out of control.

  3. how much was your room? im thinking the same for my bday does your W haave a dance floor? and a couple bars?

  4. I would suggest going somewhere a little less strict.  The W has a business clientele.  On weekends they often offer family type packages.  I don't know how well a party of 10 - 15 would go over.  I would definitely speak to the manager first.  It might be  a huge waste of money.  I am not sure about Montreal, but in NY we have these all suite hotels, which are pretty much like mini apartments.  I have thrown parties in them without a problem.  I think it was a part of the Mariott chain.
