I have a 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD. Everything is stock. I was just wondering if I could pull the baffles out of my mufflers without having to get some new jets. I can get them if there is no way around it without messing anything up. I just prefer not to have to spend 85 bucks for a few jets. but i will if i have to. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

  1. Do the world a favor, don't.

  2. It will only serve to make it noisier, and you may get a few tickets for noise violations in states where they arrest bumble bees for flying too close to the window.

  3. You will more than likely have to rejet the carb's.

  4. Pulling the baffles on newer bikes is a bad idea. The problem is ethanol fuel. A motor has to run at a high temperature to make the ethanol burn. Traditional hot-rod techniques such as removing the baffle and airbox will make the engine run cooler. It is only by a little but enough to cause problems burning the alcohol.
