Can I purchase Eurostar tickest on the UK web site?

I want to purchase tickets on eurostar from London to Paris. When I go to the eurostar web page they ask for "your country of residence" if I select the US (where I live) the cost of a round trip ticket is $166.

If I go to the eurostar web site and select my "Country of residence" as the UK, the cost of the same ticket is 59 pounds (about $118) quite a bit cheaper.

Does anyone know if there could be any problems by just purchasing the the ticket as if I lived in the UK? Either way the ticket is picked up at UK station either by entering the confirmation number or going to the ticket counter.

  1. This site provides electronic ticketing and doesn't appear to care what part of the world you live in.  You do have to phone the toll-free number to book, but that shouldn't be a problem, since the price looks good:
