Can I purchase an unlocked mobile phone on ebay, and use it with Virgin Mobile Canada?

I want to buy an lg shine online (ebay) that comes unlocked.

If I buy a sim card, will it work? Do virgin mobile canada even have sim cards?!?

i got one and had to send it back it would not work. unlocked cell phones needs a number from your provider to see if its one of their phones most likely its not and all cell phones have a sim card
