Can I purchase contacts that have different powers than my original one?

Like if I'm -6.0, can I get one that's -6.5?

  1. I've ordered from drugstore.com and they ask who your doctor is so that they can confirm your prescription, but even if they can't they send the contacts anyway.


  2. no. i tried this and they always ask for a prescription. its required by law. not even online. sorry.

  3. you can but without a perscription for that specification you will have to pay for them yourself

  4. Yea but before doing that I would recommend getting your eyes checked so you don't a get too strong or too weak perscription

  5. In order to get a different power contact lense you have to have a prescription for those contacts. When you order contacts they usually verify that your prescription is correct and who it was given by.  

  6. Well, you seem hellbent on doing it anyway, so go ahead and try.  You obviously know more than your doctor.
