I found where someone asked a similar question a year ago. I'm pasting the link to the page so you can read all the replies. I personally have never seen it at Walmart or any mainstream store. I thought the only place you could buy it was online. But maybe I'm wrong, so here's that page...........

No you have to get it online somewhere, walmart does not sell it.  You might also want to check local and state laws as in some places its actually illegal to carry.

The correct answer is, it depends. Yes, you can order it online.

I don't know if any Walmarts actually sell mace, and yes, it's even illegal in many states.

But in many states, you can go to an actual store & purchase it. They will probably even have different kinds/sizes.

My advice, next time you see an officer in your city/town, ask him/her. They will know and will also be able to tell you the law that pertains to you. Some states you can buy it, but you can't carry it. (What's the point?) I used to work at a store in the Twin Cities (MN) which had city police as security guards. I asked them & they told me it was legal to carry there, the few different places I could buy it, and then the best/cheapest/place w/the most options I could go to buy it from. The place I ended up purchasing it was a police/fireman/EMS shop and most of the items it sells can be sold to the general public (like mace).

Oh, but it is illegal to use on the police in Minnesota, even in self-defense, if they are supposedly doing their job. ;)
