  1. You need to have a background in Astronomy to study Astrophysics.

I wish you good luck I'm studying them too.

  2. There really is no significant distinction between professional astronomers and professional astrophysicists.  Essentially all astronomy nowdays is done in the context of physics.

  3. You learn astronomy while studying astrophysics...so yes you can!  Good luck.

  4. Although it is a conflict of interest, it can be done.  Expect to get confused though unless you learn how to separate your facts.

  5. There is no reason you couldn't study both.  Today astrophysics is highly dependent upon a knowledge of advanced arithmetic.  Good luck in your studies.

  6. There's not a lot of difference between them.  Getting a degree in astrophysics doesn't keep you from working in astronomy, and somewhat in the other direction as well.

The question is, what do you want to do with the degrees.  If you want to be an astronomer or astrophysicist, you'll need a PhD in the field - which means you should really be majoring in physics in college.  Taking astronomy and astrophysics courses is of course good too, but you really need a physics background to get into graduate school.  Then you can specialize in any area of physics, astrophysics, or astronomy.  A physics degree is very versitile.
