Can I put CUSTOM ringtones on any of the new Verizon phones? (ie: LG Dare, Chocolate 3, etc)?

I like my phone but it's nearing the end of its days. With my phone, I can edit any audio file on my computer, save it to the microSD card, put it on my phone, and set it to a Caller ID Ringtone, and Alert tone, or an Alarm tone. I love this feature as it really personalizes the phone for me.

I was in the Verizon store yesterday and the sales girls told me that the new phones do not allow custom ringtones like this and that ringtones must be downloaded from Verizon at a price. I was truly unhappy to hear this, but I still think it may be possible, and I'd like to confirm this before buying the new phone.

This feature, though seemingly minor, is very important to me and it is a deciding factor in what phone I choose to buy, so if anyone has any knowledge or resources for information regarding the usage of custom ringtones with any of the newer Verizon phones, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
