Can I put MBA Candidate on my resume if I'm only as far as taking a GMAT course?

  1. NO, put it in your cover letter.  

    Resume speaks to what your accomplishments and past performance.    Taking a GMAT course is not an accomplishment.  To some employers it can look like you don't have the self discipilne to self study for the test.   Making a "big deal" out of something so minor is viewed as puffery... it will cause the employer to question other items on your resume.


  2. Totally agree with the previous 2 answers. What if you get called in for an interview and the subject is mentioned? What will you say then? Also, when people list this on their resume, they put it in the EDUCATION section along with the name of the institution and expected graduation date. If you haven't even applied or enrolled into a program, then how are you supposed to list this? If you only put MBA candidate, then people are bound to be skeptical of why you didn't list the other details.

  3. You have to have applied to an MBA program, been accepted, and enrolled in a course.  THEN you are an MBA candidate.

  4. Look at this way:  You're putting down on your resume that you signed up to take a test.  How is that a credential in any form at all.  It means nothing, absolutely nothing.
