Instead of a donut, I would like to carry a full size spare in the trunk of a 2003 Buick Century. Is it possible? Is it practical?

  1. yes the trunk on those was made big enough to use a full size tore ,my uncle has one of those cars and he a has full size tire in it,he threw his donut tire away ,good luck.

  2. Same Tire Storage area, Manufactures do the "Donut" to save them money. YES Everything is the same.

  3. Theres a ton of space in there, h**l you could fit four full-size spares in there if you wanted to!

  4. yes you can, you may give up some space for it but highly recommend it

them small doughnut tires arent made for speed or distance. read on the side some are for over 35mph . or very far. they were designed to get your car to mechanic to fix it.

i carry a full size  in my trunk with a full set of tools.. so i can fix it myslef and save some $$ in the process.

and yes alot of pple do it.. more then you would think

  5. yes u can but u will lose some trunk space, also it will weigh ur car down a lil more... i think thats kinda stupid (unless ur traveling far) .. what i think u should do is keep the tire at your house, and if something happens to your tire put the spare on and whenever u get time go back to ur house and switch it...

  6. Sure you can. Just make sure you fasten it down so that it doesn't bounce around. You also need to make sure the standard jack will SAFELY raise the car high enough to put it on.

You will lose a lot of trunk space and it will be a lot heavier to handle.

Just curious as why you would want to do this.

  7. Yes you can and yes it is, but it may not fit down into where the donut fit.
