Can I put a surfboard traction pad on a skimboard?

They are the same thing if that is the kind of pad you want. Some skim boarders prefer an archer bar but that is based on personal preference. Have fun and good luck.

Yes they are the same thing. I have a skimboard traction pad on my surfboard.

Yes, traction pads make riding waves so much easier and is more effective than wax.  Also consider buying an archer pad which gives you better grip for your front foot.
