Can I put down a layer of resin, epoxy or polyurethane over my 60 year old ceramic tile floor?

I have beautiful 60 year old ceramic tile on my bathroom floor. The problem is it get's dirty really easily and looks so much better if had a shine to it.

  1. what are you trying to do?  Can you provide more details?  What is prohibiting you from taking out the old tiles?

    Depending on what type of shine you're looking for, most types of tile/grout sealant will give the tile some sheen value by default.  You will need to seal your floor regardless, so you should try that first.  The problems with epoxy and polyurethane products is the potential to turn yellow when exposed to UV.  Another set back is the material becomes very slippery.
