Can I put exterior seal on interior stain?

I was an idiot and bought interior stain for exterior benches, its been applied and its humid here. Can I fit my mistake by applying exterior polyurethane and if so, If I applied the last coat 30 minutes ago, how long do I wait before applying the poly. ?

Chances are its gonna rain within the next 8 hours-ish

Read the directions on the exterior poly. You can apply it but I think you need to wait at least 24 hours. If it rains then you will need it to be really dry before applying the poly. I don't think your stain will be hurt...just dry it off and let it air dry before applying the poly.

Exterior products have additional chemicals in them for the harsher outdoor applications, but you can use it indoors if you let it dry completely. I would wait 24 hours or whatever the instructions tell you to do before applying the poly. Can you move it indoors?
