Okay, so I got a blizzard thing from Dairy Queen, and I couldn't finish it, so I put it in the freezer. And now, its rock solid! Can I put it in the microwave for a tiny bit, to defrost it? Or will that make it taste bad?

  1. Yeah for a little less then 10 seconds I do it all the time ~ it is fine

  2. So long as you don't microwave it long enough to melt it completely, it will taste exactly the same as before.

  3. You could.  At least, that's what I do.  But don't over do it, to the point where it's just one brown puddle of liquefied ice cream.

Of course, you can just leave it out for some time, and defrost it that way.

  4. You shouldn't do that because the microwave radiation is only for objects going from neutral to hot.

You should let it sit on the counter or put it in the fridge for a while

  5. Technically, yes you could do that. But that would make it taste odd (have you noticed that after you microwave leftovers or whatever, they have a weird taste). Especially with microwaves, you don't know how fast the soft serve will melt.

I used to work at DQ, and whenever we got a rock hard blizzard or anything that was rock hard (besides cakes), we would just chuck it out.

You could leave it out at room temperature for a while. That would be much safer and easier to control if it melts too fast.

  6. yes can but u have to watch it so it doesn't melt too fast and overflow in your microwave
