Can I put music on the LG chocolate?

I have the LG White Chocolate and I just bought a 1GB Kingston Micro SD card I know that verizon makes their stuff copyright but how do I put music on the phone do I just put the SD card into my computer and transfer the files or will this not work?

put your sd card into your computer

and just drag the music into the file
