Can I put my center speaker in my 5.1 system 3 feet above TV?

Essentially, the center speaker will be 8 feet off the ground. If I point it downwards, is that a problem? I will be sitting about 10 feet away from the TV/Speaker. Will this make me think the voices are coming from above?

no it doesnt, my center is also about 7-8 feet high

No it won't make you feel the sounds are coming from above, when it mixes with the left and right speaker they should all sound in flow together.

I have my center also around 7 feet high it doesn't sound awkward.
