I put my guppy in a 850 milliliters tank because there is only 1 male guppy in my 10 gallon tank who chases her everyday. Its just temporary because she is pregnant and because she's the only female guppy in my 10 gallon tank. Then I'll put her back in my 10 gallon tank. Would this be okay?

I didn't put a heater, since the temperature of water is 82F. So is it okay?

  1. That'll work.

We always had a nursery "cage" that was a plastic frame with mesh over it  that allowed all of the fish to be in one spot, but unable to get at the babies.  It hung by clips over the edge of the tank.

If you're planning on having a lot of guppies, you really should invest in another male or two and another female or two, to get the genetic diversity up a bit.  My parents' tank is filled with "mutants" because they never added new stock.

  2. That should be good. If you want you can get a breeding net and place her in the orginal tank but she's in the net. The male will try to get her but he can't.

  3. should be fine but when the babys arrive dont clean any of the algae off as they feed on it =]
