Can I put water lilies in a swimming pool, how long would they last?

if they would survive in a pool, any ideas where I could buy some locally- los angeles?

  1. Use silk ones.  Lily ponds are no place to swim and pools are no place for lilies to grow.


  2. Chlorine kills plants.  A pool is no place for a live plant.  

  3. try your local nursery they might have them and they should last couple of days in the pool.if your thinking of for a party they will last for that occasion.

  4. Chemicals will kill them, and there is no nutrition in the water for them.  You could use them for a party etc., but not long term.

  5. Depending on the amount of chlorine in your pool, live lillies will last anywhere from one day to a few days. I would advise against adding any live plant matter into your pool in any case. You run the risk of contaminating the pool water by adding vegetation. The chlorine will eventually kill the plant, then you're stuck having to clean out dead plants from your pool.
