Question:

Can I re-enter the UK as a visitor when my student visa expires?

Greetings,

I am a student in the UK with a visa that expires on 31 October of this year. I have saved a significant amount of money over the years, and would like to stay in England after my visa expires just to do the tourist thing. Is it possible for me to leave when my visa expires and then re-enter as a visitor? How long can I be a beach bum and spend my money here (and NOT work, of course)? And finally, what will I need to show the re-entry person when I come back to England as a visitor?

Thanks for your help!

  1. Of course you can.  You would just need to get a visa, is necessary, for the period that you want to stay.  You would just have to convince the authorities that you would not stay illegally.
