  1. Washing it will make it less sticky and not work as well, but if it's covering an open wound it can hold bacteria.  I wouldn't reuse it.  It's not very expensive

  2. If you wash it it will not be as sticky and it could hold bacteria and probaly does. I wouldn't...just buy a new one!

  3. As long as you have used a pad or something over the actual wound area there's no reason why not apart from the fact that it never really sticks right second time around.

I know because I tried it when my boy hurt his leg - I had to change the pad everyday and it seemed a waste to keep throwing the vet wrap away. To be honest I think it's made to be a one-use thing. Though I know it doesn't have to be as many years ago when it was first on sale I got some from the chemist's (and it cost a fortune )to use on my knee and you could  use that stuff 3 times.

  4. I'd never reuse it.  When you can get new for only a buck why risk the possibility of re-infecting?

  5. if you get vet wrap wet, it tends to bunch up and doesn't work as well. i would not reuse it. just go out and buy some more.

  6. As long as you aren't covering an open wound you can re-use it but it's not as sticky and can be stuck together.

If the cost of the vet wrap is what is making you ask this question, yes to me it is pretty expensive per roll just to be thrown away.

Here's an alternative, go to a medical supply store wal-mart....the disposable ace wrap stuff is the same thing as the vet wrap.  If you really want to go cheap

https://direct.empi.com    click on the ATC/Taping tab, then CoHesive Bandage.  You order it by the case and while it's a lot at once, you save in the long run if you have to use it alot.  It averages about $1.00 per use when you order that way and you can get any color.

I'm a physical therapist and I order mine online and use it on my horse.  Just cause it says VET-wrap they put a higher price tag on it and it's the same stuff.

  7. You dont use just plain vet wrap on wounds i hope? There is suppose to be gauze under it. And YES you can re-use it again.

  8. I doubt that it would be very useable after washing it, and I don't think it would get very clean. Vet wrap is not that expensive. I would not use it again.

  9. Vet Wrap cannot be washed. It would lose it's stickiness. Besides, it might have fungus, or bacteria from it's last use. I just wouldn't chance it.

  10. I don't think you can wash vet wrap.  It would be all bunched up and stuck together and about impossible to straighten out.  I have used vet wrap over again for non-injury related uses, like to wrap a mare's tail but never tried to wash it.

  11. It is not meant to be reused. It was developed pretty much as a one time only deal. If you want re-useable wraps you should look at some other types of wraps.  See links below for re-usable types of wraps

  12. Washing would leave it stickless - if you are re-using it on a tail or a place without wounds -  you should be fine.  It will be tough to remove it in a way that will allow you to reuse it tho! The stuff can be a pain to take off just because it sticks to itself so well!

Again dont reuse it if wrapping any type of wound - i'd assume you know that!?

  13. Yes you can
