I have a desktop computer and want to recive hi speed internet for it but i live in an apt. and the cable service i have to use is to expensive, I thought I had seen a commercial for the phone company cricket that they had what looked like a usb memory stick but was internet for laptops and it thought i saw them use it on a stationary and the monthly price seemed fair. Are there things like that, what else can I do that is not complicating and not expensive?

  1. if you're thinking of buying a laptop you should check out this site first. they give you a sony vaio laptop for FREE! all you need to do is complete a few quick tasks for them.

  2. No, you can't get a wireless USB card for internet for your desktop.  Either you pay for land line service or get a laptop.

  3. Of course you can. All you need is a free usb port on your computer and install the program on it. I bought two of the usb cards for our business network since our internet t1 went down after Hurricane Dolly and i am sharing the service to 30 computers. We are getting speeds of about 600kbps which is still over 10 times as fast as dial up. Just intall the program connect your card, double click on the cricket wireless program and in the QuickLink Mobile screen click connect and you are ready to surf. I highly reccommend it. Plus if you ever get a laptop you can take it and use it where ever cricket has service. Let me know if you have any questions. pvl109@yahoo.com
