Can I record HD Freesat (from ITV/BBC) to my Sony HDD DVD recorder?

I have the 250gb RDRHXD970, it was not HD but had so many facilities so at the time I took the plunge!

Would it be possible if I recorded that highdef content to my 250GB HDD and then watch it using the recorder or will I have to buy a FREESAT recorder as well? I wanted to buy a normal FREESAT receiver with HD but will I need to buy a HD Recorder?

  1. You can record it but it wont play in HD format.
