  1. copying dvds will require a computer most likely, and will not work on a set top dvd recorder.

  2. First, the technology is illegal, to be able to copy DVD's from rented DVD's.  There is pirated software available on the internet if you really want to.  A DVD recorder is meant to take your home movies and record them on a DVD.  Or I believe you can record a movie from a TV broadcast to DVD.  So many (if not all) DVD's are write protected so it won't allow you to copy them.

  3. MOST DVDS' HAVE CODES ON THEM SO U CAN'T RECORD THEM

  4. Most commercial DVD's are encoded with copyright protection measures which prevent them from being copied. They play fine on your DVD player.........but try to copy them, forget it........just will not work.   (But, I have heard of others who have have been able to do this....guess it may depend on what equipment you're using). Guess, all I can say is give it a try.  It just "may" work.........but don't be surprised if it doesn't.

  5. I guess 2 can.
