Question:

Can I record from my freeview box onto my Sony DVD recorder (RDR-GX350)?

I currently have my main aerial into the freeview box, then an aerial out to the DVD player, with an aerial out of the DVD to the TV. Scart from freeview into DVD, and another from DVD to TV. I can watch TV fine. either through terristrial or freeview, and can record terristrial or freeview (by setting dvd recorder to L1 input).

What I am trying to do is record one channel of freeview, whilst watching another. Or even record terristrial and watch freeview or vice versa.

It's an old TV so only one scart input and no individual jacks for the white/red/yellow plugs.

  1. If it goes out of the dvd-r and you can see it on the tv than you'll be able to record that signal.  But, you'll have to use the tuner on the dvd-r player, i.e., select the channel you want to record on the dvd-r.  TV needs to be set to 3 or 4 most likely to see what's on the dvd-r.
