Must have minimum package (£16 per month) otherwise they charge you £10 a month subscription.  So if you don't have package - ie just a viewing card and get regular free channels, they will charge you £10 a month to use Sky +

without a subscription to sky your box will operate as just a free sat box  the advanced features such as recording will be non operational.

nope you can't, your viewing card has to have the information on it which is placed there by sky when you subscribe
