  1. What kind of table is it? Johnny is right, it wouldn't last a couple games, u need to buy regular pool table cloth, which i also perfer simonis 860, but depends on what type of play your table is being used 4? if ur serious get 860. if its a table for family times, or kids, and u don't want to spend as much money on, there are different priced wool blends, 4 an example of cost go to poolndarts website. if your doing it yourself, i'd perfer u buy it with the rail n bed cloth be precut, which i think most is? if you do not have a wood backed slate, and have to glue bed cloth to slate, be sure to buy 3m! do not buy a cheaper version, of spray glue to save a couple bucks! i made that mistake, on my cousins bar table, and had to redo it with 3m. if u decide to do it yourself, there are stretching instructions, all over the net. i'll ad more as i find out more about you table and plans, unless im back in the hospitol. WHERE IS THE PERSON WHO IS GIVING ALL THE THUMBS DOWNS, ANSWER?

  2. There are many different grades of felt used for pool & snooker tables, some are covered in harder wearing cloths for pub use etc, professional cloth is dearer and lasts far less. It's a case of how much you want to spend and how keen you are as a player.

Of course you can cover your table in anything its entirely up to you. You will need some suitable glue for the cushions other than that its all a case of tension and assembling correctly.

  3. Well Mary

1st  you should hire a pro -Thats just advice but you will be dealing with a couple of hundred pounds of slate for openers -If a real pool table and not a wooden top from Wal -Mart  but if you really want do it your self

Simonis 860 or brunswick centenial CLOTH not felt   I know thats what most people call it but no pool table has ever been covered with felt it wouldnt last 3 games

3M spray glue and a whole bunch of know how you know you have to take the table apart  then wrestle the slate top

Just get it tight and even ie loose spots will play H with the way it plays

Not as easy as it looks just be sure you want to do it your self

I saw people mess them up so bad it cost 3 times as much by the time the pros got to it     Good Luck-Johnny

  4. Definitely get someone in to do it.  It's not all that much (I've paid more for my cues) and it's worth it.  I concur that Simonis is the best, after that Champion Tour.  You can get a "Teflon" coated cloth too if you prefer for home use.  The main thing is that a Pro will know how to put the cloth on, Gluing is not a great option, unless it's the only option.  A backed slate is better, that means there's a wood backing to staple the cloth to.  There is a proper way to stretch the cloth too, in order to make sure it plays the same on the whole table, not one tight part that's fast and another looser side that's slow.  Also, wrapping the rails is tricky.  It's just too important to risk messing up, lets face it the only thing that contacts the ball is the cloth and the cues, so make sure it's done right.

  5. Simonis and Championship are the top felts that you are going to get your best quality from.  Then go to Fleat farm and get some aerosol adhesive.  I can't remember they kind we use right off the top of my head, I'll look into it and post it for you when I get it.  Keep rackn em up!

Johnny is right on having someone do it unless you know how and have done it before, and you will need someone to help you move the slate.  And also, it is 3M spray glue, I just had a mental block and couldn't for the life of me think of what it was.
