Can I recycle my old analogue radio?

I have just bought a DAB radio and would like to dispose of my analogue radio in an environmentally friendly way. Can anyone tell me if there is a firm in the UK who will take the radio off me and dispose of it safely?

Some charities run a system where you donate old mobile phones and the charity gets a small donation for each one they pass on to the recycler. Is there something similar for radios and other electrical equipment?

  1. freecycle in your area?

    www.freecycle.org

local ad in the newspaper? or supermarket?

    give it to a friend

theres arent any companies recycling radios because there is very little value in an old radio, it has no valuable components unlike a phone.

  2. Can you donate it to the Salvation Army or some other charity that will sell it? Unlike analog TV, I haven't heard anything about analog radio going away in the near future. (If that is happening in the UK, maybe they can ship old radios to the third world USA).

  3. local charity shop would be the best place for it

not only will some one buy it who needs a radio cheap, but the charity  will make cash from the sale
