I went to my bank the other day and got a cashiers check to pay a bill. It turns out that its already been paid (parents did it) and now I'm stuck with a $192 cashiers check. Will my bank let me return it and restore the funds to my account?

  1. Just sign the back and write not for intended purposes on the back. They can then deposit it back into your account.

  2. You are the owner of the check, you can return it but won't get the fees back.  For $192 you should have got a money order.  They are much cheaper.
