  1. You would have to remove the wood and the mold using a high friction apparatus with an oscillating motion.

  2. Very often, mold on wood is eating  organic material on or in the finish.

Paint stripper will kill it & remove any finish at the same time.

Can also be saved if the wood is sound  but unfinished

Scrape some off  w/  a coin or if you're brave  fingernail to see if the wood is hard or has gone spongy.

There are wood hardeners that can help if the wood is not too far gone .

    Some people like the "charm".

Common chlorine based  mildew removers work but can bleach the wood.

Would try Lysol or other  disinfectant first.

If the mold darkens ,its working.

Would also wipe it down w/ denatured alcohol or mineral spirits before

    refinishing

    Best regards.

  3. Yes, with bleach and water.  You can check out my web site for detail information, yes its free.

  4. If the damage is not to severe, you can clean it with white vinegar. Mildew, if very extreme, may be removed with a water and bleach mixture, 75-25 ratio. Wipe it on with a 3M pad and wipe it dry after a very short time so as not to turn the finish white, do a 'round behind' test area first. Now look at the finish for haze in the finish, wipe on some lemon oil to see if the color returns. If not you may need to put on a new top coat of shellac or lacquer depending on what is present. Test 'round behind' again to see if this is workable. Usually a steel wool buffing and a good wax is all that I need to revive a finish like the one you describe. To test for shellac, use alcohol on a cotton ball, rub it on a descrete spot for a minute. Hold the ball to the wet spot, if it will stick to the spot, it's shellac. If not it's likely Lacquer and we need to talk some more.

  5. sure, you can, just mix a little water&bleach together spray it on the furniture with a pump up sprayer let it set a few min. then rinse it off,bye bye mold
