Question:

Can I remove number "stains" from brick?

I am going to replace the numbers on the front of my red brick house, and I have removed the old, ugly ones, but now (as I worried might happen) there are the outlines of the old ones. They were put on a diagonal and I want to redo them straight, so I can't even just put up a plaque over the markings because it would have to be huge.

Any ideas?

  1. Try power washing away the old dirt and grime. It's a pretty quick and cost effective method!

  2. I agree.  However, you can also use muratic acid, but be very careful.
