Can I rent a car at age 24?

Question

Are there any companies that rent cars to a 24 year old?/what is the minimum age to rent a car? I am thinking minimum age is 25, is this correct? Is this every company?

Yeah, I am pretty sure that to rent a car you have to be 25 years of age, not positive though, as I am only 14...

i dont know why you wouldnt be able to. i thought you can do most everything at 18 (then again im 15 and ive never tried).

different companies have different policies.

generally, you need to be 25+ to get the best rates.

if you are 18-25, you probably can still rent the car, for extra fees.  there may also be additional restrictions such as staying within state.

you really need to check with each company.  it is not a federal or state rule. what usually is creating the problem is that the insurers to the auto rental industry are the ones requiring drivers to be older, so the rental companies are just making it part of their policies.

under 18, you can not rent a car.  renting a car requires signing a contract, and minors can not legally sign enforceable contracts.

There are a few companies that will rent to people under 25.  Enterprise is one of them.  Of course the cost will be higher.
