Does anyone know if a special license is required? And are there rental companies that rent limos without driver included in CA?

  1. Yes, it's considered a large vehicle, so I believe you need a class B license.  I don't know of any companies that do that.

  2. You can get by with a class C license for driving any 2-axle vehicle that has a GVWR of 26,000 lbs or less...There are a few car rental companies that will rent "luxury" sedans, like the standard Lincoln Town Car limo...But a stretch limo?..You most likely would need some pretty heavy cash to cover not only a rental fee but the insurance and probably a deposit as well...Not worth it.

  3. Nope, you need  driver's license to drive anytime and anywhere.

  4. What you propose is the same as renting a car,  you just want a big one.    Maybe you can find someone to rent this way,  but be prepared to pay a ridiculous amount.
