Every recipe I find on the net says to use breadcrumbs, but I know oatmeal is used in meatloaf, so I was wondering if i could use oatmeal instead of breadcrumbs.

  1. yes it can be used just crush them in to bread crumb like peices and you should be good to go.

  2. You can use any ingredients to make the tofu meatballs :)

For me, my tofu balls, consists of chopped mushrooms. Have a look : http://crystalbyblog.blogspot.com/2007/0...

You can even add chopped water chestnut or yam bean or carrot, for some crunchiness.  chopped spring onion, herbs, chilli can be added too or shredded nori (seaweed), it depends what you have in the kitchen. And this can be used as the filling for wonton.

  3. Yes, why not...Tofu meatball with oatmeal.

  5. Yes you can.

  6. If you use oatmeal, be sure to crush it up more. It has a heartier texture than breadcrumbs, so be sure to grind the oatmeal in a food processor or seal the oatmeal in a bag, let out the air and smoosh it with your hands (outside of bag) until the texture is fine/medium coarse
