  1. I KNOW THIS FOR REALLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

It has been proven that running a mile is the same as walking one.  Because by walking you have to exercise longer.  Running is more vigorous however it is completed earlier.

  2. you can't beat running.  walking doesn't do nearly as much for you

  3. wellll if dont enjoy running then i guess walking would be an alternate choice.  i myself dont feel anything when i walk for miles compared to if i run them. ur heart & lungs definetly benefit from running.  people swear by the benefits of walking... i guess if u walk 24/7  like new yorkers you could benefit but if ur just a couple miles a day type walker... then id say run... walking is for the wimps

  4. Yes, they do have some of the same benefits. I'm a runner, but if for some reason you can't run...bad knees, prone to injury, etc...then walking might actually be better for you. Speed walking is the best as it will get your heart rate up so that you will benefit from the cardio end of walking. I think running is better for the cardio aspect of it, but walking is easier on your joints, which is why a lot of people choose walking over running. In fact, I had to take 6 wks off from running (docs orders) and went out for speed walks instead. I actually came back sore the first week and had sore muscles in places I've never been sore before, and I'm use to running 30 miles a week. So, I think walking must work slightly different muscles.

They both have benefits, so choose the one that works best for you. Or, you could do both. To be in your best shape, it's actually good to vary it up. Run, walk, swim, bike, etc...Do it all!

  5. Walking an hour burns less calories than running an hour.

However walking a mile burns more calories than running a mile.  But it takes longer to walk.

Walking is easier on the joints.

  6. I don't really know but I saw that no one was answering ur question. From everything I've been reading lately they normally say that they are both pretty good only real difference is that running burns much more calories. All in all it's probably better to run.But I know walking has to do a lot of good for your legs because when I am too tired to run I walk really fast and I always feel the burn in my legs =) Hope this helped =)

  7. no way running is way better for you.
