Question:

Can I replant my banana trees now?

I have 6 pods of banana trees that are in some hard ugly soil. I gave my neighbor some and hers are twice the size of mine and also have better color. However, hers are planted in good soil. With that said, I would like to dig them up and replant in some good organic topsoil.

Will it stress/kill them if I do so now or should I wait til winter comes to AL?

  1. do it now and give it some miracle gro plant food. it works well and if used often will be 4x the size it would have been in the poor soil

  2. Yes you can transplant them no problem at all..I transplant all my pups all summer long.....I grow mine is straight strictly sand......None of that compact store bought topsoil such as hyponex etc..it becomes too dense....A little organic matter in the holes do not hurt at all..but I have great success with mine..I started with 8 plants 2 years ago..heres a picture of them now...
