Yep, thats why its got the RW thing at the end instead of just  -R.

Yes, absolutely. If not it would be a DVD-R, not a DVD-RW.

You just need to format it in order to erase it.

Yes you can. That's what distinguishes RW from the R types.

You cannot erase specific files. To do that you must use DVD-RAM.

Your authoring software and DVD burner drive will be able to erase the whole disc so that you can start again. Just follow the instructions. They're usually straightforward.
