Can I return a pair of glasses that I bought from LensCrafter by mail instead of going to the store where I bought it, and still get a full-refund if it is still within the 30-days guarantee period? I was vacationing in another state when I loss my original pair of glasses and in haste went to a LensCrafter store and got a new pair on the spot. Now I am back in my home state and after one week of wearing the new glasses I think the new frame doesn't really suit me.

  1. it doesn't have to be returned to the store you bought it from, you can just go the nearest local lenscrafters and they'll take it back as long as it's in the same condition that you got them in (new policy as of a couple months ago cuz in the past they used to accept anything back)...meaning as long as they aren't chewed up by a dog or run over by your car, you can return them at any lenscrafters, the policy is printed on the back of your receipt

if you needed the glasses right away cuz you lost them while on vacation, a plastic hi-index lens with anti-reflective coating (anti-glare) for semi-rimless frames would be a special order and you would not have been able to get it as quick as you might have wanted....they most likely offered polycarbonate cuz it's the best the for semi-rimless to reduce the likelihood of the lens chipping but they couldv'e offered you the "featherwates plus" version of polycarbonate so the thickness would be closer to the hi-index lens....also, the size and shape of the frame would affect the thickness of the lenses-- if it's a high minus rx, the more smaller and rounder the shape, the thinner the edges...it's also thinner if your eyes are more centered to the lenses

just go to the nearest lenscrafters and return it if you don't like it, or if you really like the frames and just want the thinner lenses, just ask for the hi-index 1.67 lenses and pay the difference for the upgrade....it's their policy to either exchange of return within 30 days....you don't need to bring the receipt if you can't find it, it's all in the computer system...their computer network is nationwide

  2. So...you were stuck, and they helped you out real fast, and it was a frame you chose on your own...no one forced you to take it, right ?

You better call them and ask..

I bet they will be stopping that guaranty before long...the abuse is incredible.

  3. Taek your recipt and go to the nearest Lenscrafters to you. See what they can do to help.
