Here's the situation:

Amazon.com has lost my order. They say they will resend it soon, but it's not soon enough.

Can I buy the same book from Barnes & Noble and then return the Amazon.com book to Barnes & Noble with my B&N receipt, once it arrives? (The Amazon.com price is much better than B&N.)

  1. I have exchanged DVDs before that I ordered online.  It should work.

  2. Ethically you probably should not, but as long as the bar codes are the same they should be interchangeable.

Once you get your Amazon book, why don't you just return the B&N book to B&N?

Why don't you just save yourself the headache and borrow the book from your local library instead of buying and returning it at B&N?
