Can I return/exchange a camera that was accidentally dropped to Walmart?? 2 weeks old. Huhuhu!

The camera was bought about two weeks ago and it was accidentally dropped and now it says lens error. Can I still return it to Walmart?? Thanks!

  1. You don't ask "should you" so I won't comment on that.  But CAN you?  Well, if you still have the original box and all the parts, then yes you can.


  2. if you got warranty on it, they'll take it back no questions asked

    if not it doesn't hurt to try. :)


  3. I used to work in the photo department and most stores have a 30 Day return policy. As long as you have the original box and the receipt, it should be no problem. Good luck.

I can't speak for Walmart, but I know that dropping and breaking something is not a reason for a store to give you a new one.  Accidents or abuse are not covered under manufacturers' warranties.  There are extended warranties to cover that, but you would have to have one in place BEFORE the accident.

    If Walmart DOES give you a new camera, they'll pay for the replacement by raising prices for the rest of us.

    Think of it this way.  If you bought a car and had an accident, could you go back to the dealership to exchange it for a new car?

  5. Gravity and fluids are not covered by warranties ... only insurance that covers accidental damage can cover that ... did you buy the insurance when you bought the camera?
