Question:

Can I revise an item on ebay after someone has bid on it?

I have an item on ebay, but ashamedly I have spelt it wrong and I feel I might be losing views and bids because of this. Someone has already bid on it and I tried to revise the item but when I click in the box it doesn't work, it won't let me type anything at all. Is this because someone has already bid on it and I can't change it incase I change it to "Ooopps forgot to mention, it's broken"? Thanks x

  1. You can not revise the item description once you have received a bid for it. However, you can still "Add to Description" to correct your decription. If you have misspelled in your title bar, the chances that you lose views and bids is high. You probably need to monitor your auction and see if it performs. If it is not performing as good as it should, I am afraid you will have to end the auction more than 12 hours before auction ends and you can state reason for ending auction early as "there is an error in the listing".

  3. If it's bad and it affects the value of the item you can cancel the auction and start it over. Go to your my eBay selling page, go to Seller Tools, and read about canceling the auction.

  4. You can make notes that will append  to the body of you Ebay Advertisement. It will not let you change any of the existing text after a bid has been placed.
