  1. yes that is fine just make sure you oil the hoof.

  2. riding a barefoot Horse on Gravel would be risky unless the horse's hooves are already tuffened up; such as being barefoot for yrs.

The other problem with this is:

    A chance that a small pice of Gravel could get caught in the Horse's Hooves without you knowing; then this could get inflammed;

So I would be careful and walk or trot only.

  3. tytytrytry

  4. yes-i give you permission

  5. I wouldn't suggest that. One time we had one of our horses get out of his field. We had only gravel roads for miles (boonies and all). He ran down the road to the cattle about 2 miles away. His feet were chopped to pieces. It's just not a great idea. A simple shoe will help fix the situation.

  6. no, cos if he is used to wearing shoes his feet without them will be sensitive. watch with this.if he recently had shoes removed, you will have to wait for the underside to harden up a touch, but u cant ride him on ground like this without them, you will end up with a horrendous lameness

  7. NO NO NO NO NO!

    (Sorry about that)

I rode my old horse for a while without shoes (stupid me) and it ended up having permanent hoof problems x

  8. You can, but you shouldn't for long periods of time. If the only way you ride is along gravel and shoes are completely out of the question then try walking along the grassy side path. Another alternative I've heard is effective is those horse boots. They are quite pricy but  will do the job!

  9. Your horse will need shoes You can be bare foot.

  10. BIG no - no

  11. Generally no,

I rode my horse on gravel without shoes, but it was only about 100 feet to cross over to another place to ride.  I wouldn't suggest riding a barefoot horse on gravel for much more than that.  If you want to ride on gravel, rocks, stuff like that, you're better off shoeing them.  My horse mostly went on pasture, dirt trails, and stuff like that and he had great hooves barefoot with trims only, but they aren't all like that.

  12. he can do it as long as it is not an everyday thing.if it is, pad are what is needed not just shoes. pads cost about an extra $25-$50 but they protect the entire foot. Get the gel injected solidifying type, they require less care than the classic pad. If you can choose a supportive sole or leather pad is best but plastic is popular too

  13. yep i do all the time and my horses have never hurt there hoves just dont go at a full gallop cause they could slip and fall but thats the same in shoes

  14. Stone bruises are really bad also.

  15. it probably isn't a good idea, unless the horse hasn't had shoes for a long time (a few years). if you are riding on gravel for a shorter amount of time it should be fine.
