I'm am getting a Dell Inspiron 1526 with a 160GB hard drive, and 2GB of RAM. I was wondering if i could in fact play the Sims 2 on it with expansions.

Answers would be great appreciated. (:

  1. Yes, it'll be able to run the game just fine, with or without expansions.

  2. yeah it should run just  fine   with some reservations it comes with vista  after all

  3. I looked up the specs of the 1526  and it looks like it ships with the following card: ATI RADEON ® Xpress1270.

This is an integrated card and as such is not recommended by the Sims 2 or most other graphics-intensive games. You really need a dedicated card to play the sims 2 and expansions without problems, but often that isn't possible with a laptop. That's why EA/Maxis came out with games specially for laptops like Pet Stories, Castaway Stories etc.

You can try playing with integrated (onboard) graphics but often the sacrifices you have to make in quality (turning all settings down to their lowest, turning off features) does not make for a very pleasurable gaming experience.
