Can I run an 8ply rating tire at 65 psi on a trailer tire rim designed for 6ply rating at 50 psi?

  1. As long as the tire size is the same, I see no valid reason why not.

      Now, if the weight of the trailer calls for the original, 6 ply to run at 50psi, I see no need to run the eight ply at 65psi, where in fact it will carry the load probably better than the six ply at much lesser psi, maybe even at around 45, and for sure at the 50psi.
