  1. sure... though since the grade/ quality is un known.... its best to use a blend of normal diesel and bio diesel.

You may need to change some fuel hoses

  2. Yes you can use biodiesel without modifications assuming your car does not have natural rubber fuel lines as biodiesel will break those down over time.  Biodiesel is caustic and will break down diesel gunk build up in fuel tanks, this gunk is then caught in the fuel filter of the car.  If you lose power or the engine just shuts off then the fuel filter should be the first thing you check.  If you use biodiesel that does not meet ASTM D6751 then you may experience clogged injectors due to the fuel having to high of a glycerin content or to much unreacted fatty acids.  If you plan to make the biodiesel yourself run the 3/27 test several times before you use the fuel to check for unreacted mono, di, and tri glyceride's.  If you plan to use biodiesel in the winter it should be blended because B100 will gel at about anything less then 40 degrees F (of course this figure is dependent upon what feedstock was used and the quality of the fuel).  Blending Biodiesel to B20 or 20% biodiesel and 80% petrodiesel will lower the gel point to an estimated -23 degrees F.  One of biodiesel's advantages is that it provides a higher lubricity then ultra low sulfur fuels thus providing for a greater efficiency.

  3. The short answer is yes.  What kind of car you're thinking about running it in will determine if you need to replace some ancient rubber hoses in it though.  My Jetta loves a good mix of B20 w/no mods.

  4. not straight away but you will after a while. Try a bit of both, thats what i got off google, you have a bit of both and then you will give out less fumes or something.

  5. Assuming the car was built after about 1992 then you can burn biodiesel without any problems. In older diesels you might have to replace some hoses and seals, most will wear out anyway and may have been replaced. Other then that carry a few fuel filters for the first 1,000 miles or so as biodiesel will clean all the gunk out of fuel system.

Other then the hoses and seals you can run biodiesel without any problems at all, biodiesel is a straight replacement for diesel.

One more thing some parts in older diesels will need to be changed anyway, even if you don't burn biodiesel, because all diesel sold now is the ultra low sulfur diesel and some pumps and injectors need sulfur as a lubricant.

  6. no, but there is a relatively inexpensive kit you can purchase to run your car on used cooking oil. look it up

  7. Yes but in the long term NO.

Bio diesel eats up natural rubber hose in the fuel lines

the only modifications you need is to replace rubber hoses with synthetic ones

  8. As long as it is a diesel, and you are probably better off blending it with regular diesel.

  9. Yes, no question about journey to forever have a couple of these Renewable fuel pages however i would be careful because this is only true with good weather i would at a minimum do a mixture with diesel.

  10. It must be filtered ,if not U will plug your injectors.....
